I bought myself a few goodies at the bookstore for Valentine’s day - I couldn’t resist this adorable little polka-dotted notebook (I have a weakness for pretty notebooks), a lovely book of love songs and sonnets, and this five-year memory book. How it works is each day, you write one or two sentences about what happened – every day for five years. Then, you can look back and recall and compare what happened on that date in each of the five years. I’ve written my first entry in it just now! Oh, and I bought myself a single Godiva dark chocolate truffle, because it just wouldn’t be Valentine’s Day without a little bit of chocolate. x
A compliment?
While I was closing up at work today, one of my male coworkers commented that he really liked the way I dressed, that I was very classy, and that it was “refreshing” to see.
I was quite surprised, because I didn’t find him to be particularly polite to the other women at work, and in fact, he can be somewhat intimidating at times. So I was taken aback that he had paid me such a lovely compliment. But I was flattered, as I would be at anyone complimenting my style.
I wish that’s where it ended.
