Story Time.

So, you’re wondering how I saved two peoples’ lives, as I mentioned in one video? Here’s the story. Neither time was especially heroic, I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

The first time was in middle school. I had just stepped into the girls’ washroom, to find this girl in my grade attempting to commit suicide by drinking a bottle of rubbing alcohol. She was sobbing and had already downed half of the bottle when I got there, so I immediately knew something was very wrong. I grabbed the bottle away from her, and screamed for help. I tried to get her to drink water to dilute the poison in her body. (Honestly, I had no idea what to do, but I thought that might help a little bit). Finally she was taken to the hospital and had to get her stomach pumped. She survived, but transferred schools directly afterward, so I never saw her again. I hope she’s still around and that she’s okay.

The second time was about a year ago, I was on the bus on my way to university, and was sitting all the way at the back. A woman near the front suddenly fell out of her seat and started seizing on the floor. I expected one of the many adults sitting near her to do something, or help her out. Nobody moved, not even the driver. So I went up to her, turned her on her side so she wouldn’t choke, and told the driver to pull over and call an ambulance, and to tell them that a woman was having a seizure. He did, and I waited with her until the ambulance arrived.
